Who is Digital Solution Group
Digital Solution Group (DSG) is the next phase of the life long mission of Brion Carroll (CEO) who has been instrumental in the development and evolution of the PDM/PLM industry. Achievements include his efforts to:
- Led the team to develop the first PDM (Product Data Management) system back in 1984, while at Computervision;
- Founded the first "full service" consulting firm (Life Cycle Solutions, Inc) dedicated to the PDM / PLM industry in 1992 that birthed the first PDM Evaluation and Cost Justification toolkits that formulated vendor selection;
- Launched the first website (PDM Information Center) in 1995 that was dedicated to supporting the PDM/PLM industry in support of information transparency - critical during its initial evolution in Aerospace, Automotive, High Tech, Medical Devices, and Discrete;
- Led the team that developed and delivered FlexPLM - the Retail industry's first enterprise (web-based) PLM solution in 2002 that has since transformed the Retail industry just as he did back in the mid 80's and 90's to the non-Retail markets;
- Led the team that developed and delivered the ThingWorx Retail Connector in 2018 that facilitates the configured integration of FlexPLM with any API accessible 3rd party product / services (SaaS) vendor.
Retail PLM has been adopted throughout the world by both Brands and Private Label / Vertical Retailers to support / centralize the operations of a wide range of services from Assortment Planning to Design / Development to Testing to Sourcing and eCommerce. Each of these services of PLM have one or more 3rd party /niche systems / services (SaaS) that are used to feed or be fed by PLM.
To implement a PLM system and NOT also establish a strategic / tactical plan on how to fully integrate ALL of these 3rd party / niche systems addresses only half of the performance / efficiency problems.
The mission of DSG is to work with Brands and Private Label / Vertical Retailers to focus on extending and amplifying the value of a PLM system through the complete integration of external niche systems (VOC, 2D/3D, Global Material Library, Testing, Logistics, ERP, eCommerce, etc.); bringing operational efficiencies and harmonious data flow in support of critical product initiatives and business needs across an organization.
From Mind to Market, to Vendor Partnerships, to Intelligent SolutionScape Profiler, and Real-time Dashboards resulting from monitored integration activity; all are focused on helping brands and retailers to assess, analyze, collaborate, and communicate, as well as become more transparent to make unified product and business decisions.
